Delta Police Rescue Kidnapped Woman, Hunt for Suspects Ongoing

The Delta State Police Command has announced the rescue of a woman kidnapped by gunmen in the Aladja area of the state. The police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, saying the victim was rescued unhurt and has been reunited with her family.

According to Edafe, the incident occurred on Monday, October 12, 2025, when armed men broke into the victim’s apartment, attacked, robbed, and kidnapped her. The police received a distress call from the victim’s husband, and the DPO Ovian Aladja Police station, CSP Friday Ekundayo, swiftly mobilized and led operatives to track down the kidnappers.

The police trailed the kidnappers to a forest along the Iyara community, where they were forced to abandon the victim and escape. The victim was rescued unhurt, and the police are currently hunting for the fleeing suspects.

The rescue operation is a testament to the Delta State Police Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property. The police have assured the public that they will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of citizens.

The identity of the victim and her family have been withheld for security reasons, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation and manhunt for the suspects.
