Foluke Daramola, the Nigerian actress, has opened up about the personal and financial toll of her public support for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
“The truth of the matter is, for me, the way I was in 2023 cannot be the way I will be in 2027. It cannot be because… I know what I lost without collecting a kobo, no matter how much is seen,” she said.
“I lost two ambassadorship deals, one ₦10 million, one ₦15 million, because of the election, because of the Obidient movement. I almost lost my marriage because my husband despite a Yoruba man was a strong supporter of Peter Obi. But the fundamental thing is that I voted my conscience and choice.”
