Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially declared his commitment to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The announcement came during his first appearance at the South-South APC Stakeholders Meeting, held in Benin City, Edo State, on Saturday. Governor Eno also promised to back all APC candidates across Akwa Ibom during the next electoral cycle.
According to a statement from his media team, President Tinubu was unanimously endorsed as the sole APC presidential candidate for 2027, while four APC governors in the South-South were granted automatic return tickets. The meeting was themed “Renewed Hope in Action: Strengthening APC Mobilisation and Governance in the South-South.”
Addressing the party faithful, Governor Eno emphasized that he didn’t attend alone but came with a full delegation from Akwa Ibom to prove his genuine loyalty and commitment to the APC’s mission.
“This is my first outing with the APC South-South family, and I did not come alone. I came with a full team to demonstrate our seriousness and loyalty,” he said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s guiding principle—the Akwa Ibom United policy, which promotes inclusive governance and development that transcends political differences.
“We are moving forward together. Akwa Ibom is on the rise, and we are building partnerships across the board to deliver good governance,” he added.
Governor Eno also praised the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts in the region, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the proposed South-South Development Commission, calling them strong signs of inclusion and progress under President Tinubu.
The summit concluded with a communiqué endorsing President Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential flagbearer for 2027 and passing a vote of confidence on Akpabio, the four APC governors in the region, and the party’s zonal leadership.
Notable attendees included APC National Chairman (Acting) Alhaji Ali Dalori, APC South-South Vice Chairman Chief Victor Giadom, and the Governors of Cross River and Edo States, among others.
