Osimhen is a Mediocre Player, Saudi League Suits Him – Former Italy Star Slams Super Eagles Striker

Former Italy U-21 forward, Antonio Floro Flores, has made harsh comments about Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, calling him a “mediocre player” and suggesting that he belongs in the Saudi Arabian league.

Speaking in an interview with Kiss Kiss Napoli, Flores did not hold back in his criticism of the Nigerian star, who helped Napoli win the Serie A title in 2023. Despite Osimhen’s past success, the Italian former striker insisted the 26-year-old has not lived up to the hype.

“Osimhen? He should go to Saudi Arabia. I’m tired of hearing about him,” Flores said. “He only had one good season. I get annoyed when people talk about a player who is not even that good.”

Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020 and quickly became a fan favourite, scoring crucial goals and leading the team to their first league title in over 30 years. But after a drop in form and fitness, he was loaned to Turkish club Galatasaray last season.

Flores accused Osimhen of disrespecting Napoli by removing club-related posts from his Instagram profile, saying, “Not even his mother knew who he was before Napoli. And now he acts like he’s bigger than the club that made him.”

He continued, “If I were his agent, I would send him to Saudi Arabia immediately. He’s not a champion, and I don’t think he even knows it.”

Osimhen has been linked to several top European clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal. However, recent reports have also suggested interest from Saudi teams, with big-money offers on the table.
