Odumodublvck Brags: ‘No Nigerian Hip-Hop Song Beats Declan Rice’

Popular rapper Odumodublvck says no Nigerian hip-hop song has made a bigger global impact than his hit track Declan Rice, slamming critics who question his rap credibility.

Controversial Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has declared his 2023 breakout hit Declan Rice as the most impactful Nigerian hip-hop song ever made.

During an interview on The Beat 99.9 FM Lagos, Odumodublvck said critics who mock his rap style are only doing so because they feel threatened by his success.

“People say I’m not a rapper, but that’s just hate. God will judge them,” he said passionately.

According to him, Declan Rice is not just a song — it’s a cultural phenomenon. He pointed out that the track became even more iconic when Arsenal used it to unveil the football star Declan Rice during his £105 million move from West Ham in 2023.

He insisted the song remains the biggest digital asset ever posted by Arsenal on social media.

“I’ve rapped in English, Pidgin, Vernacular, and even Patois. We’ve done it all. But people hate because they can’t ignore the influence,” Odumodublvck said.

He also challenged critics to name any Nigerian hip-hop verse in the last 20 years that has achieved more recognition or cultural relevance than his.

“Let them bring the metrics. Which line has done more than mine in Cast? My impact is global, yet they downplay it,” he added.

Odumodublvck didn’t hold back, declaring that anyone discrediting his art was being ungrateful to the culture and deserved divine judgment.
