The Kano State Police Command has arrested Saudat Jibril, an 18-year-old female of Farawa Quarters, allegedly cut off the throat of her husband, Salisu Idris, a 30-year-old male, with a sharp knife.
A deployment of team of detectives to the scene of the incident as directed by Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori led to the arrest of the culprits, while the victim was rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
A released signed by the Command PPRO SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the suspect has been apprehended and is currently in custody at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Homicide Section and will be charged to court for alleged offence of culpable homicide.
He said the Commissioner of Police cautions that the Command will not tolerate any form of violence or criminality in the State and assures the public of its commitment to conducting thorough investigations to ensure justice is served.
The Kano State Police Command urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
