The Rally Organized by the New Associates was on Saturday disrupted by unknown gunmen.
The rally which eventually held after many have left was supposed to have been held from Tombia to Oxbolake and was supposed to be held on the 12th of April but was shifted to 26th of April, 2025.
People were already seated when all of a sudden gun shots started rending air while people ran shelter skelter.
The hun shots were coming from the back of the event center Church of God Mission Camp along Okolo iri road in Yenagoa Local Government of Bayelsa State.
Recall that rally was organized by the supporters of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike in appreciation of President Bola Tinubu for appointing sons and daughters of the state into positions on government, was also aimed declaring support for Wike, who is the grand patron of the group.
It however took the combined efforts of security personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and DSS disengage the gunmren
