The Ogun State Police Command has expressed determination to seize the opportunity of the ongoing maiden edition of the National Police Day to strengthen collaborations with the public, make the event a Police Public Engagement forum, as a way to engender public trust.
Acting on a presidential directive, IGP Kayode Egbetokun recently declared 7th April 2025 as National Police Day, in recognition of the invaluable contributions and commitment of policemen to nation building.
Commands Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola in a statement made available to journalists extend invitation to the general public , adding that various activities have been mapped out for the celebrations, which started on Wednesday April 2nd with the Flag off of the reconstruction of POWA Acquisition Centre at the Command Hq., Eleweran.
A Town Hall meeting with critical stakeholders on challenges and collective solutions to security issues was held on Thursday, 3rd April, 2025.
On Friday, 4th April, 2025, Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers will interface with the public on the importance of National Police Day and the Police-Community Engagement forum. On Saturday, 5th April, 2025 members of the public will access free medical services. Events for the day will be capped up environmental sanitation and cleanup of public spaces.
