The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has commenced Batch B of the NC-NC Remediation Training at its Learning Centre along Saipem Road, Opolo, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE), welcomed the trainees and congratulated them on their selection. Represented by the General Manager, Corporate Communications/Zonal Coordination, Esueme Dan Kikile, he expressed appreciation to Waltersmith for the training. He emphasized that the NCDMB remains committed to the objectives of the NOGICD Act 2010, which aims to build local capacity and enhance Nigerian participation in the oil and gas industry.
He also shared the Board’s 10-year strategic roadmap, which is built on five key pillars and two enablers, and urged trainees to take full advantage of the program. “This training is part of our mandate, and you are fortunate to be selected. Make the most of this opportunity and take it seriously,” he advised.
Speaking on behalf of Waltersmith, HR Analyst, Sarah Ajuonuma congratulated the trainees and described the training as a transformative journey. She encouraged them to engage actively, stating that the experience would be rewarding and impactful.
“We believe in you and are excited to be part of your success story. Thank you to NCDMB for your collaboration and commitment to making this training a success,” she added.
Aniso Kelly, representing Dexterous Applied Training Institute, outlined the training modules, which include Entrepreneurship, Health and Safety at Work, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Nigerian Content Awareness, Introduction to Oil and Gas/Engineering Materials, Confined Space Safety, Quality Control and Assurance (Lead Auditor and Non-Destructive Testing), Instrumentation and Control Engineering, and Process Engineering. Trainees also participated in a question-and-answer session, engaging with facilitators to deepen their understanding of the subjects.
The Executive Secretary, represented by the GM, CC/ZC, in the closing remarks reiterated that NCDMB is dedicated to increasing Nigerian participation in the oil and gas sector and contributing to national development. “We want more Nigerians to be actively involved in the sector and in the broader growth of our country. Our goal is to create a better Nigeria for all,” he stated.
