As the Super Eagles gear up for their crucial World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe on Tuesday, head coach Eric Chelle has imposed strict restrictions on media and visitors to ensure full concentration from the players.
Following their hard-fought victory over Rwanda, the Eagles returned home to resume training, but Chelle is determined not to let complacency creep in. To keep the squad focused, he has closed off the team’s camp to outsiders, barring both visitors and journalists from direct access to the players.
Confirming the restrictions, the team’s media officer, Promise Efoghe, stated that Sunday’s training session would be completely closed to the media and public. “Coach Eric Chelle is not carried away by the win over Rwanda and is demanding maximum concentration from the players prior to the next game,” Efoghe said.
However, he noted that Monday’s session would be partially open. “Monday’s training will be opened for the mandatory 15 minutes and this will be shortly after the official press conference,” he added.
For journalists eager to engage with the players, Efoghe assured that a mixed zone interaction would be available on match day. “Provisions will be made for mixed zone interaction with the players on match day,” he stated.
