Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has vacated the premises of Government House, Port Harcourt to another location following President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of emergency rule in the state.
Earlier on Tuesday, his whereabouts was a subject of speculation shortly after Tinubu suspended him, his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Ordu and the Rivers State House of Assembly over the state’s political crisis.

At the Government House on Wednesday, security presence is noticeable, with at least three armoured personnel carriers stationed at the main entrance.
According to a source, there has also been a change in the security architecture at the Government House, with new security personnel being deployed to take over from the ones who worked with the governor.
Meanwhile, an online petition that is fast moving across different social media platforms have been launched online seeking signatures for petition against the suspension of Fubara.
The appeal to sign the signature to make him continue in his office as governor is also promising those who signed an undisclosed reward.
While some netizens, however, have described the petition as a scam, a non existent appeal that some persons want to use to defraud the gullible.
