The Asake family saga just got juicier! The relatives of Afrobeats superstar Asake have finally stepped into the ring, speaking out on the heated back-and-forth between the singer and his father, Fatai Odunsi.
The drama kicked off when a viral video showed Mr. Odunsi pleading for financial assistance, revealing that he’s been battling a stroke since 2022. The man claims Asake has been ghosting him despite his worsening health condition. The internet, of course, had a lot to say!
Asake, however, wasn’t having it. He hit back with a cryptic TikTok freestyle in Yoruba: “You can’t please everyone; you can’t please the world. But anything you are doing, just do it for God. My own father wants to cajole me, and I have sent so much money to him. I have struggled for so many years, but they want to make life tire me.”
Just when we thought the drama was cooling down, Asake’s family dropped another bombshell in a video obtained by Vanguard on Saturday. They didn’t just address the abandonment claims; they also brought up an alleged daughter—11-year-old Zeenat—whom they claim Asake has refused to acknowledge!
A woman in the video made a heartfelt plea to the Lonely at the Top crooner, saying: “I’m begging you, Ololade Mr. Money. Even if Nigerians donate ₦10bn to this man, just ₦1m from Asake would make him happier.
“Please take care of your father. If you don’t want to support him directly, buy him a house in Isale Eko where he can earn rent to survive.
“In this Isale Eko, you can see houses of ₦40m, ₦50m that you can build so this man can be collecting rent. Also, if you are in doubt about Zeenat, the mother has agreed to a DNA test.”
