The internet is on fire after a viral video showed a heated exchange between a Muslim man and a woman inside a public bus. His problem? She was munching on her meal while he was fasting for Ramadan – and he wasn’t having it!
The drama started when the woman casually unwrapped her food and started eating, only to be interrupted by a man sitting nearby. Clearly irritated, he told her, “Excuse me, I can smell that. Do you mind eating that somewhere else? I’m fasting. Can’t you wait till you get off the bus?”
The woman, unfazed, responded that she was simply enjoying her lunch and didn’t see why his fast should dictate when and where she could eat. But the man insisted that out of respect, she should at least wait until she left the bus.
The entire exchange was caught on camera, and as expected, netizens had plenty to say about it!
The video quickly made its way to X (formerly Twitter), where people wasted no time in sharing their takes. Some defended the woman’s right to eat wherever she wanted, while others argued about bus etiquette and religious tolerance.
@Dr_BellaR: “I work with a lot of Muslims. Not once has anyone ever asked me to stop eating because they were fasting. This guy is the exception, not the norm. Don’t use this to justify Islamophobia.”
@Neo306: “I’ve been on London buses, and eating, drinking, or smoking is not allowed. She’s wrong for eating on the bus, but he’s also wrong for using Ramadan as an excuse.”
@GeorgeHclownwrl: “She’s right. Why should society change because someone is fasting? Your fast, your rules—not ours.”
@marcanthony99: “Fasting is a personal commitment. If someone struggles to be around food, maybe they need to rethink their approach.”
