Man Beats Wife to Death Over Ramadan Food

Bauchi residents are still trying to wrap their heads around the shocking incident that unfolded on March 1, 2025, when a heated argument over Ramadan food ingredients turned deadly.

The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 50-year-old businessman, Alhaji Nuru Isah, for allegedly beating his 24-year-old wife, Wasila Abdullahi, to death during a domestic dispute near Government Girls College, Fadamam, Mada Area, Bauchi.

According to the Police Command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Wakil, the fight started over food ingredients and fruits meant for breaking the fast. What should have been a simple misunderstanding escalated into violence, leading Isah to strike Wasila with a cane.

Witnesses say she collapsed on the spot, and frantic efforts were made to save her life. She was rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

The police have wasted no time in taking action. Isah has been arrested and detained, with a full investigation already underway.

Meanwhile, Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, has assured the public that justice will be served.

“This is a tragic and senseless loss of life. We want to assure the people of Bauchi that justice will be done,”he said.
