Now, this is the kind of police work we love to see! The Imo State Police Command is out here flexing its muscles against child traffickers, and boy, did they just score a major win! Two suspected traffickers were busted, two stolen kids were rescued, and justice is getting served hot!
According to the command’s spokesman, Henry Okoye, these officers weren’t just on their A-game—they were unshakable. During a top-tier stop-and-search on the Owerri-Aba Express Road on February 21, they nabbed 45-year-old Eze Chika, who was caught with a four-year-old child. Initially, she tried the classic “That’s my kid” routine, but under pressure, she cracked—turns out, she had bought the child for a whopping N1.8 million from a trafficking syndicate in Aba.
But wait, here’s where things get wild! In a desperate bid to escape, Chika whipped out N1 million, hoping to bribe her way to freedom.
Meanwhile, in another operation, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) arrested 32-year-old Confidence Odo for allegedly abducting her ex-neighbor’s son. This sneaky suspect swiped the kid while he was playing outside and thought she could get away with it. Plot twist—she didn’t! The child has since been reunited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Ududiri, and the police are hunting down possible accomplices.
The Imo State Police Command is doubling down on its commitment to wipe out child trafficking. They’re urging parents to be extra vigilant and keep an eye on their little ones.
