Suspected bandits launched an attack on Kakin Dawa village, located in the Gidan Goga district of Maradun Local Government Area in Zamfara State.
Reports indicate that the assailants abducted over 50 women and children during the raid.
A local resident revealed that the attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, invaded the village around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, going door-to-door to carry out the abductions.
“Everyone started running because the armed bandits have been targeting our village; later we discovered that more than 50 of our women were abducted,” he told us.
Speaking further, he pointed out that the kidnapped victims included young girls and married women.
He appealed to the federal and the Zamfara State governments to deploy more military and security personnel to the axis to engage the terrorists.
However, efforts to get the reaction of State police command spokesman, ASP Yazid Abubakar was not successful as of the time of filing this report.
