U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has expressed confidence that America is ready to elect its first woman president. While downplaying the significance of her historic bid, Harris emphasized that her campaign is focused on moving the nation forward after the divisive era of Donald Trump.
With Election Day fast approaching, Harris and Trump are intensifying efforts in key swing states, holding rallies and leveraging media appearances to gain an edge in a race that polls show is closely contested.
When asked if the country is prepared to elect a woman president, Harris affirmed, “Absolutely,” adding that her candidacy is about turning a new page for America.
“People are exhausted with Donald Trump and his approach, because it’s all about himself,” she said.
Trump, while speaking to supporters in North Carolina, had pitched a very different message.
“This election is a choice between whether we will have four more years of incompetence, failure and disaster, or whether we’ll begin the four greatest years in the history of our country,” he said.
He repeatedly called Harris and her running mate Tim Walz stupid during the rally.
