Oyo Relocates Traders to New Bola Ige International Market

The Oyo State Government announced on Tuesday that former occupants have been resettled into the redeveloped Bola Ige International Business Complex, New Gbagi, in Ibadan.

This was revealed by the Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment, and Cooperatives, Adeniyi Adebisi, in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, in Ibadan.

Adebisi confirmed that the project has been completed and that the former occupants have been accommodated in the government’s portion of the complex, fulfilling the administration’s earlier commitment.

“The ministry enumerated the present occupants of the project site to accommodate qualified ones among them upon completion of the second phase,” he said.

He further noted that the ministry had engaged with all stakeholders, including market elders, market executives, zonal leaders, and the developers handling the second phase of the international market, ensuring that everyone benefits and is aligned with the development.

He said, “However, it is essential to note that no single trader has come forward to complain about the project or the developer. This suggests that the majority of traders are satisfied with the Government’s initiatives and are eager to benefit from the redevelopment.”

The Commissioner reiterated that the Oyo State Government has a strong track record of supporting traders and business owners through infrastructure development, access to finance, and training programs.

He highlighted that these initiatives have significantly boosted business growth and development across the state, ensuring that traders are actively involved in the progress. Adebisi encouraged those who have yet to benefit from these programs to engage with the ministry to take advantage of the opportunities available.

He also emphasized the government’s dedication to economic development and trader empowerment, as demonstrated by the redevelopment of the Bola Ige International Business Complex. According to Adebisi, these efforts have been well-received by the majority of traders, who appreciate the state’s ongoing support.
