Content creator turned pastor, Woli Arole, has faced severe backlash following his comments on the tragic death of Christianah Idowu, a 300-level FUNAAB student who was abducted and murdered by her male friend, Ayomide Adeleye, a 200-level student from OOU.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Woli Arole addressed the incident by urging women to be more security-conscious. He listed examples such as having sugar daddies or spending weekends with male friends, advising women to prioritize their safety and well-being.
However, his remarks were met with criticism, as many found his comments insensitive in the context of the tragedy.
In his post, he wrote:
“Message to the LADIES:
The devil is on rampage against young ladies destinies. Can we see the rate of RITUAL KILLINGS. Ladies don’t fornicate around, don’t carry SUGAR DADDY, don’t follow one boy friend away for a weekend, don’t date BOYS you know that are doing FRAUD!!!. Be careful. Beware. Study your Bible, PRAY. Give your life to Christ. Your destiny is more than SEX and MONEY.”
