American rapper Nicki Minaj recently surprised and delighted her Nigerian fans by tweeting in Pidgin English.
On the microblogging platform X, Nicki responded in Pidgin to a post about her that appeared to be false. In her tweet, she expressed frustration about how some people only make money by mentioning her name, asking them in Pidgin to go a day without talking about her.
She wrote: “I must be the only person you can make money off mentioning. Go 1 day. Abeg. GO ONE FUCKING DAY WITHOUT FKNG LYING ABEG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
When a Nigerian, @tyxhndrxx asked about who is teaching Nicki Minaj pidgin language, she swiftly reacted, noting that she sees the pidgin Nigerians litter on her timeline every day.
