Nigerian comedian Chibunna Stanley, popularly known as Funnybone, has sparked a heated debate with his outspoken skepticism towards the controversial Pastor Abel Damina. The cleric recently made waves by publicly criticizing fellow ministers who accept tithes and adhere to traditional Christian practices.
Pastor Damina’s bold public statements have elicited mixed reactions from Nigerians—some see him as a reformer challenging outdated norms, while others accuse him of creating division and believe he should resolve his disagreements with fellow clergy behind closed doors.
In a fiery Instagram post on Friday, August 30th, Funnybone didn’t hold back, labeling Damina a “sharp-tongued theologian” who, despite his intellectual abilities, lacks the spiritual depth and supernatural gifts required of a true preacher.
The comedian, who revealed he has known Damina since his days in Jos, Plateau State, admitted that he has long struggled with the cleric’s controversial biblical interpretations.
