Sokoto State Hospital Services Management Board has set up a committee to ensure punctuality among staff in all the 22 General Hospitals across the state.
Executive Director of the Board Dr Bello Abubakar Attahiru announced stated this during a Management meeting of the Board.
Statement issued by the Information/Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health, further said the measure become necessary in view of the report reaching his office of staff absenteeism at duty posts.
Dr Abubakar said his recent visit to General hospitals in Shagari and Bodinga indicated that staff were showing lukewarm attitude in reporting to their duty post.
While reminded all staff of the General hospitals that the number of patients attending hospitals is increasing during every raining season hence the need for them to be punctual.
He warned that necessary action would be taken against erring staff adding that dedicated ones would be rewarded.
Dr Bello Abubakar Attahiru thanked the state government for its continued support toward improving health sector.
