Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, known as Blaqbonez, recently discussed his music career and prolific output.
He acknowledged that while he may not be the most successful artist in Nigeria, he has consistently produced a substantial amount of music over the years.
Blaqbonez credited his extensive discography to his habit of releasing new songs weekly in the past. He believes this strategy played a crucial role in building his career and establishing his reputation as a rapper.
Additionally, Blaqbonez shared his experiences of participating in and winning rap competitions across Nigeria since 2011.
He emphasized that his hard work and dedication to music have significantly contributed to his success, even if it isn’t always immediately apparent to others.
He said: “I used to drop music every week.
“I have more music than every artiste that exists in Nigeria. I tell you for a fact.
“I’m not the most successful artist. I’m not bragging, but I’ve dropped more music. That’s how I build everything I built. Some people want to judge me based on what you can see, but the sh*t that you could not see, I was winning rap competitions all over Nigeria from 2011.”
