The Federal Government of Nigeria has warned that it will take appropriate action against any country found to be supporting the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, made this statement while addressing the Diplomatic Corps in Abuja on Wednesday.
He emphasized that Nigeria is a sovereign nation and will not accept interference from foreign entities attempting to support the protesters.
This warning may be a response to reports of protesters waving Russian flags and calling for President Vladimir Putin’s intervention amid the widespread hunger and hardship in the country.
The Russian embassy in Abuja has since distanced itself from the protesters and denied any involvement in organizing the demonstrations.
The protests, which began on August 1, have escalated into violence, resulting in deaths, looting, and destruction of property.
