The Katsina State Police Command reported the arrest of 64 individuals and the recovery of 693 bags of fertilizer following a violent protest in the state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Sadiq Aliyu, no lives were lost during the unrest, although a government fertilizer warehouse was vandalized.
Aliyu explained that the recovered fertilizer and arrests were related to the vandalism. Ongoing investigations are being conducted to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Calm has been restored to the state since the acting governor, Faruq Lawal, imposed a curfew and banned protests. Additionally, security forces have been strategically deployed to enforce the curfew and maintain order.
