Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas (MON), President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has announced the lifting of the suspension on film producer Adanma Luke.
The suspension was imposed following a tragic incident in which Junior Pope and four other crew members died on April 10 after falling into the River Niger near Asaba, Delta State, while en route to a movie location.
The AGN’s decision was communicated through a statement by the guild’s scribe, Abubarkar Yakubu. The statement also noted that the ban on filming in riverine areas has been lifted, but members are reminded to adhere to the safety standards outlined in the AGN bylaws.
In April, the Association of Movie Producers (AMP) also suspended Adanma Luke, who was producing the movie in which Junior Pope was set to feature.
AMP had established a nine-member committee to investigate the circumstances leading to the deaths and advised Luke to halt all work pending the completion of the investigation and a final decision.
