Jack Grealish Reveals Last Conversation with Ex-Manager Craig Shakespeare

Manchester City star, Jack Grealish has revealed his last conversation with the late former Leicester City coach, Craig Shakespeare.

Grealish, who was paying his tribute, said Shakespeare encouraged him after he was not included in England’s Euro 2024 squad.

Shakespeare’s family had on Thursday confirmed that he had ‘passed away peacefully at home’ at the age of 60.

Reacting to the sad news, Grealish also said that he was ‘absolutely devastated’.

“Shakey, one of the greatest people I’ve ever met, not only in football but in life,” Grealish posted on Instagram.

“Last month [he] was texting me when I didn’t make the Euros squad whilst he was ill shows the type of man he was!”

“[He said]: Jack, sometimes it’s hard to know what to say,’ Shakespeare wrote to Grealish. ‘But I’m gutted for you and thinking about you.”

Grealish added, “An absolute heart of gold! Everyone really will miss you, Shakey. Absolutely devastated. Sending all my love to his family.”

Grealish worked with Shakespeare during their time together at Aston Villa.
