Nigerian singer and rapper Falz has responded to the ongoing nationwide protests against bad governance. As the protests, which began on August 1st, enter their second day, Falz voiced his concerns on the microblogging platform X.
Known for his strong stance against poor governance, Falz expressed frustration over President Tinubu’s apparent indifference to the protests. He questioned how long the president plans to disregard the people’s grievances before the situation escalates further.
His words: “Genuinely don’t know why it’s so difficult to be humane. They say make you leave am, you no gree. Say na your birthright. You can’t now turn a deaf ear. You tried to make it look like the protests were “politically motivated”. Shebi una don see now? How long do you think you can keep on pushing the people back before it blows up in your face ?”
It is worth noting that Afrobeat award-winning singer Burna Boy handed over the title of “African Giant” to Falz recently after dissociating himself from the nationwide protest for being canceled by Nigerians in 2020.
