The Kano State House of Assembly passed a bill into law on Tuesday to establish second-class Emirates within the state. Earlier, the House had introduced the bill before their recess and resumed discussions yesterday.
Following thorough deliberations during the plenary chaired by Speaker Jibril Falgore, Deputy Speaker Muhammad Butubutu moved for the adoption and passage of the bill after its second and third readings.
The newly established second-class emirates will include:
– Rano Emirate: Rano-Bunkure, Kibiya
– Karaye Emirate: Karaye-Rogo
– Gaya Emirate: Gaya-Ajingi, Albasu
This development follows a two-year Emirship dispute involving Emir Muhammad Sanusi II and Aminu Ado Bayero within the Kano State Government.
