Former Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District, commended the Kaduna State House of Assembly for initiating an investigation into the administration of former governor El-Rufai from 2015 to 2023.
It was reported that the Kaduna State House of Assembly established an ad-hoc committee to scrutinize the state’s financial transactions during the period of May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023, following concerns raised by Governor Uba Sani about the state’s indebtedness.
Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has taken legal action to contest allegations of misappropriation of state funds.
However, Senator Shehu Sani, on his official X, said the people of Kaduna State were appreciative of the lawmakers’ courage and determination.
“Again, I wish to commend the State House of Assembly for the probe of the finances of Kaduna State from 2015-2023.
“The people of Kaduna State applaud and appreciate your courage and patriotism. We shall give you all the necessary support you need to recover our looted funds irrespective of whoever is involved.
“We will never accept the economic asphyxiation of the economy of our state, the impoverishment of our people and the strangulation of the future of our children by mountains of opaque and fraudulent loans,” he wrote.
