A middle-aged man issuing tickets to commercial motorcyclists at Okesa Roundabout in Ado Ekiti was reportedly shot and killed by unknown gunmen. Witnesses reported that the assailants arrived on another motorcycle, fired shots at the victim, and fled the scene.
Chairman of the Okada Riders Association in Ekiti State, Mr. Kunle Asaolu, confirmed that the deceased was a member of their association.
Ekiti State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Sunday Abutu, also confirmed the attack and stated that an investigation into the incident has commenced. The victim’s body has been deposited at the morgue of the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital.
