American-British media personality Andrew Tate has criticized Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido for allegedly promoting a fraudulent cryptocurrency.
During a recent episode of his ‘Rumble Tate Speech’ podcast, the controversial former kickboxer claimed that the $DAVIDO Solana coin is a rug-pull scheme used by struggling artists to enrich themselves at the expense of their unsuspecting fans.
Tate labeled Davido as a “C-List artist” and vowed that his podcast would expose fraudulent companies “trying to promote trash coins with a C-List celebrity friend from Africa.”
This controversy follows recent backlash against Davido after a note under his post on X announcing the launch of his meme coin $DAVIDO suggested it was fraudulent. Outrage ensued when the coin crashed hours after its launch, with many fans claiming they lost money.
