Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed concerns over the late arrival of his teammates to camp due to the recent strike action in the country.
Eight of the invited players arrived late for the upcoming World Cup qualifier, causing disruptions in their training schedule.
Speaking on TVC, the Leicester City forward acknowledged the impact of the delays but assured fans that the team is ready for the encounter.
“Some of the key sessions we needed to have were missed because we weren’t complete,” Iheanacho said.
“It affected our training a bit, but today (Wednesday) we got almost everybody and had a crucial session.”
He added, “Hopefully, everyone will be here tomorrow so we can utilize the full pitch and complete the training we need. Overall, we’ve been working very hard and training for a few days now. I think the coaches are doing a great job, and we are really fit and ready to go.”
Despite the setbacks, Iheanacho remains confident in the team’s preparation and determination as they gear up for the crucial match.
