Benue APC commends Tinubu, Akume's exemplary leadership

The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) yesterday commended the examplary leadership qualities of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume in the first year of the APC-led government.

Chairman of the party, Comrade Austin Agada, stated this during a special prayer session held at the Makurdi residence of the SGF.

Comrade Agada who noted that the duo have exhibited high integrity and foresight, acknowledged the good policies of the President, maintaining that his reforms will put the nation on the fast lane of development and growth.

He also lauded the President for the several appointments given to Benue indigenes, assuring that the party will continue to support him.

“Anyone writing petitions that the President has not carried the State along in his government is a big liar. He has sufficiently patronized us and for this act, we will support him at all times.

“To the SGF, he remains our leader and we will not disappoint him. We will continue to prayer for him to succeed.

“We are also, praying for the Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia to remember the pains and suffering the party with through in ensuring he becomes Governor. We have a firm belief that he will retrace his steps”, Agada said.

Speaking on behalf eight State Assembly members loyal to the SGF, Hon. Jonathan Agbidyeh representing Katsina-Ala East, pledged their allegiance to the former governor of Benue State, stressing that “no one will break our ranks”.

In his remarks, former chairman of the party, Comrade Abba Yaro, commended Agada’s resilience in the face of frustration and intimidation, saying that those deceiving the Governor, will not succeed.

Said he, “anyone disturbing Alia, God will disturb them. Those who are deceiving the Governor, will not succeed. If not for Akume, some of us would have been thrown away”.

Other speakers including the women, youths and the clerics all prayed for the peace, unity, progress of the party in the state and good health of both the President and the SGF.
