According to Sky Sports, Chelsea is set to officially name Enzo Maresca as their new head coach on Monday. Maresca will step into the role previously held by Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge, having inked a five-year deal. The 44-year-old departed Leicester City after leading them to promotion back to the Premier League by clinching the Championship title.
Maresca emerged as Chelsea’s top pick from a pool of candidates that included Thomas Frank from Brentford, Kieran McKenna from Ipswich, and Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton. His buyout clause from Leicester is estimated to range between £8 million and £10 million.
Upon his arrival, Maresca will bring along six members of his coaching staff from Leicester, including former Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero.
