Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has expressed his opinion that Timi Dakolo’s song “Great Nation” would have made a better national anthem than the old anthem, which the country has reinstated.
This comes after President Bola Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law on Wednesday, reinstating the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
Reacting to this development, Adekunle Gold questioned why those in authority did not consider Timi Dakolo’s “Great Nation” as the new anthem.
On his X handle, he wrote, “No one thought Timi Dakolo’s Great Nation makes a better anthem?”
