The former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has pleaded ‘not guilty’ to a six-count charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought against him.
The EFCC arraigned Sirika, his daughter, Fatima Hadi Sirika, his son-in-law, Jalal Hamma and one company named Al-Duraq Investment Ltd, before Justice Sylvanus Oriji of the FCT High Court.
The EFCC alleged that Sirika used his position as Minister to confer unfair advantage on his daughter and her husband by giving them consultancy roles for the Nigerian Air start up, and also awarding them contracts to construct an extension for Katsina Airport.
