Industry players celebrate Bamigbaiye on launch of ‘Imperfectly Awesome’

Literary enthusiasts have celebrated the launch of ‘Imperfectly Awesome: Embracing and Becoming a Wholesome You’ by Dr. Omotola Bamigbaiye (PhD).

The book is inspirational with an honest and relatable tone, with the author sharing her stories of becoming to help people love, reinvent them, and bloom—just the way they were designed to do.

Speaking at the launch of the book, Bamigbaiye said being an adult can be chaotic but it can also be a hilarious and thrilling ride.

She said: “From career expectations to motherhood, relationships, and the nagging whispers of imposter syndrome, there’s always something to grapple with.

“The world may only play off-tune beats, but you can create your rhythm and dance to it gracefully…or however else you please.”

The book captures the essence of the writer’s journey with wit and wisdom. It is a rallying cry for anyone who has ever felt inadequate, struggled with imposter syndrome or lost in the corporate world. With its relatable narrative and practical advice, it promises to be a source of inspiration, hope and comfort for readers on their journey towards self-love and fulfilment.

Bamigbaiye said: “The book is about building your ladder, one rung at a time, with laughter, tears, and maybe a little lipstick smeared on the way.

“It’s embracing the unexpected and realising that you are ‘good enough’ even when the circumstances surrounding your life say otherwise, and ‘balance’ is a tricky act you get better at every day. Imperfectly Awesome is about learning to love yourself and embracing the messy, beautiful chaos that is life, that pitfalls exist and we’re all a little flawed and need more help than we sometimes admit.

“I advise everyone to build their resilience table, do what works for you and do away with anything that no longer serves you unapologetically. There is no manual to teach anyone on how to navigate the world of work or life in general, but easier to learn from other people’s experiences. You gain wisdom, avoid pitfalls, are unapologetic about your existence, own your mistakes, and become equipped to run your life’s course better.”

Among the esteemed attendees at the book launch were notable figures from various industries, including Idorenyen Enang, President of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN); Femi Odugbemi, Filmmaker and MD of Zuri 24 Media; Lanre Onasanya, MD of H.C. Bonum Limited; Lampe Omoyele, Provost of Orange Academy; Osamede Uwubanmwen, President of the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN); Kehinde Salami, CEO of Ideas House, Victor Afolabi, Group CEO of  Hazon Holdings, Mr Taiwo Adeniyi, MD/CEO  of Vitafoam Plc, among other notable guests.
