A man in Adamawa State has been arrested with a car he allegedly stole on Wednesday morning in Yola, the state capital, as Muslims mark the end of the fasting season.
The suspected car thief, identified as Ibrahim Ali from Nguroje in Yola South LGA, admitted to stealing the car from somewhere in Jimeta, the central area of the capital city.
Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command arrested Ali along with the stolen vehicle, a Toyota Starlet bearing a Jimeta (Yola North LGA) registration number JMT 317 RY.
According to a statement released by the state police public relations officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the suspect was apprehended earlier in the day by police officers from the Ngurore Divisional Police Headquarters during routine stop-and-search operations.
