Reports indicate that Sani Dangote, a notorious bandit leader operating in the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, has met his demise in a fierce clash within the state.
The bandit kingpin, along with his two brothers and several of his accomplices, reportedly fell victim to a deadly confrontation with a rival known as Dankarami in the Dumburum Forest region.
According to a credible security intelligence source within the local government, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the conflict erupted when Dankarami seized some cattle belonging to Sani Dangote.
The source further revealed that the intense gun battle erupted at approximately 2:00 pm on Sunday and persisted until around 6:00 pm, resulting in numerous casualties among the bandits.
“Dankarami rustled cows belonging to Sani Dangote. That was the cause of the fight between the two bandits’ leaders, but Dankarami killed Dangote and his two brothers.
“The fight started at about pm till around 6:00 pm,” the source stated.
Recently, many bandits were reportedly killed as a result of a heavy fight between two bandit groups in Dajin Haja, a forest between Hayin Alhaji and Munhaye Forest of the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
It was reported that the clash occurred when a group of bandits from neighbouring Katsina State invaded some communities in Zamfara State with about 41 motorcycles to kidnap the residents
But Ado Alero, a notorious bandits’ kingpin who is an indigene of the area and operates from Munhaye Forest, intervened and refused to allow the rival group to kidnap the villagers.
