EPL: He’s like Klopp – Liverpool told who to appoint as next manager

Football analyst Shaka Hislop has proposed Liverpool to contemplate selecting Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou as the successor to Jurgen Klopp.

Hislop suggests that Postecoglou’s management style resembles that of Klopp’s in handling players.

Liverpool is presently on the lookout for Klopp’s replacement at Anfield, following the German’s announcement in January about his departure at the end of the season.

Reports indicate that Liverpool had an interest in appointing Xabi Alonso as Klopp’s successor in the summer, but the Spaniard chose to remain with his current club Bayer Leverkusen.

Speaking about the kind of manager Liverpool should appoint as Klopp’s successor, Hislop told ESPN, via TBR Football: “Listen, in terms of fit, I think Postecoglou is as close to Jurgen Klopp as you will get, both in terms of how his teams play and in terms of his personality, how he manages the players, how he manages the fans which is a big part of Jurgen Klopp’s appeal, certainly to Liverpool fans.”
