Tinubu to attend swearing-in ceremony of Senegal’s President-elect, Faye

Preparations have been finalized for President Bola Tinubu to depart from Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, to attend the inauguration ceremony of Senegal’s President-elect, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

Scheduled to depart on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, Tinubu will travel to Dakar, Senegal, following an official invitation extended by the Republic of Senegal.

According to Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, the President, who also serves as the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, will join fellow regional leaders in witnessing the inauguration at the Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.

Ngelale further stated that the Nigerian President will be accompanied on this journey by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and other high-ranking government officials.

“Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the inauguration,” the terse statement added.
