AGM organises maiden Ramadan lecture, offers prayer for Ashade Abdul-Salam's Chairmanship Aspiration

Ashade Grassroots Movement on Sunday, organised maiden Ramadan lecture in Iworo, Badagry, Lagos, offered special prayer for its Pioneer, Abdul-Salam Ashade’s Chairmanship Election in 2025.

Speaking during the lecture, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development urged Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper.

“At this period, we need to try our best to be our brothers keeper.

“It’s not difficult at times we pray and we don’t answers but we get answers to the prayers because our minds is not clean and we don’t do unto others how others will do unto us.

“If we all have this basic understanding then we can live in harmony irrespective of culture race or tribe we are in a very dynamic world.

“People move to various part of the world settling in various part of the world and within the community we must learn to tolerate ourselves.

“Understand each other and respect each other, if you know you don’t want to pinch yourself then don’t pinch others it’s as simple as that and then at the end we will all be able to live in harmony and peace,” he said.

In his speech, Alhaji Abdul-Salam Ashade, the Pioneer of AGM said Ramadan lecture was birthed out of passion for grassroots development.

Ashade who is also the APC Chairmanship aspiration in the coming Local Government Election said we cannot have development without paying key attention to good governance.

“There is no way we can to build a nation without building a state, there is no way we can build a state without building a local government and there’s no way we are building a local government without building a community.

“So out of our own mission and concern for good governance, it is necessary for us to give people the dividend of democracy.

“People must know how they can get involved in democracy that is why we birth the Ashade Grassroots Movement which is the socio-political movement which is to promote good governance at the grass-roots level.

“This, we are not doing it in isolation and that is why our motto is leave no one behind, we want to make sure everyone knows how they can achieve good governance,” he said.

Ashade said the movement was also to engage the youths towards their political aspirations so that they won’t be left behind in the governance of the country.

According to the theme of the lecture “Good Governance the Panacea  to Grassroots Development”, when we have good governance there’s no way we won’t have grassroot development.

“When the government of the day knows their responsibility all things will fall in place,” he said.

The pioneer said that AGM is a platform where the people will pick their own way of engaging the community towards good governance.

“The youths need to use the opportunity of this holy month to improve their spiritual life and pray for Nigeria as we can’t deny the fact that we are from here,” he said.

In his lecture, the Guest Speaker, Sheikh Saheed Olaniyan, the Chief Imam, Aradagun Central Mosque urged Nigerians to use the period of Ramadan to restructure themselves.

According to him, there is need for everyone to restructure themselves during the Ramadan and maintain this in order to have a better Nation.

He prayed to Allah to accept the intention of Ashade of becoming the Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area in 2025 Chairmanship Election.
