Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has expressed the determination of his administration to restore peace and unity in the state.
The governor disclosed his unwavering resolve to establish lasting tranquillity throughout the state.
Mutfwang said he has plans to facilitate the return of Internally Displaced Persons to their ancestral homes and ensure the restoration of normalcy and security in the aftermath of the series of attacks on communities of Mangu, Bokkos and Barkin Ladi among others.
Speaking during the 2024 Puus Cin Plang Naan celebration, an annual thanksgiving, Mutfwang condemned the criminal acts that have disrupted harmony in the state.
The governor assured that the government’s efforts to apprehend and duly punish the perpetrators remain steadfast.
He said. “With unwavering determination, we shall persevere until Plateau State basks in the serenity it deserves. It is our divine mission this year to rehome as many of our displaced citizens as possible.”
The governor called for unity and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of collective action to prevent societal divisions and to reclaim lands left fallow in the previous farming season.
He also commended the Mwaghavul community for upholding the spirit of Plateau, which embodies a trust that must be upheld with honour.
