The Federal Government has urged state governors to utilize available resources to alleviate the hardships faced by citizens.
Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, delivered this message during a courtesy visit to the Emir of Dutse, Hameem Nuhu Sanusi, in Jigawa State.
Idris emphasized that President Bola Tinubu is deeply concerned about the ongoing challenges faced by citizens, particularly in areas of insecurity and economic adversity.
He stressed the necessity for government to prioritize the welfare of the people amidst these difficulties, urging proactive measures and efficient resource management at the state level to address pressing needs.
Idris highlighted that state governments now receive increased allocations from the Federation Account, which can be utilized to tackle many of these challenges.
“The state and local governments as well as the Federal Government are now getting more resources due to the subsidy removal, that is why governors are now able to execute more projects in their states.
“We are urging state governors to use the available resources to help citizens out of the current hardship they are going through.
“What Jigawa state government is doing currently clearly shows its commitment to addressing citizen’s hardship,” Idris said.
However, he assured that the situation in the country will soon become history.
The minister also sought the support of traditional leaders in promoting the government’s policies and programs.
Responding, the Emir of Dutse, Hameem Nuhu Sanusi, commended the Federal Government’s initiatives towards ensuring the well-being of the citizens.
