Representative Jeremiah Umaru has introduced a bill in the House of Representatives aimed at establishing an additional constituency in Nasarawa North, Nasarawa State.
The first-term legislator unveiled his proposal in a statement issued on Friday, indicating that the bill is set for its initial reading.
Umaru emphasized that the creation of this new constituency would be instrumental in ensuring equitable distribution of resources and representation.
The bill seeks to amend the Constitution to delineate Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency from the existing Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency.
Expressing gratitude to his constituents for their steadfast support, Rep. Umaru reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the myriad challenges facing the Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency.
Despite being elected under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the lawmaker underscored the importance of unity in advancing the constituency towards enhanced development and prosperity.
