Governor Hyacinth Alia has submitted a list of eight individuals to the Benue State House of Assembly for confirmation, to serve in various capacities within the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC).
Among the nominees are Dr. John Chen, proposed as Chairman, along with Terhemen Shom, Theodore Iordye Uchi, Solomon Deva, and Edache Isaac as members. Additionally, Mrs. Gloria Clement, Peter Ogagbola, and Dr. Gisaor Vincent, who is slated to serve as the commission’s secretary, complete the list.
Governor Alia emphasized that these nominees have been carefully selected based on their proven track records. Once confirmed, they will be entrusted with overseeing elections within the local government areas of the state.
Furthermore, the governor urged the nominees to uphold principles of fairness, justice, and prioritize the interests of the state in the execution of their responsibilities.
