Mr. Val Ozigbo, a former gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Anambra, has given his endorsement to the appeal made by the party’s caucus in the State House of Assembly. The caucus, comprising eight lawmakers, expressed their concern about the prevailing levels of hardship and insecurity in the country during a press briefing on Thursday.
Ozigbo, aligning himself with the lawmakers, stated, “I lend my voice to that of LP inner caucus of Anambra State House of Assembly to call on governments on all tiers to be responsive to the immediate plight of the people, which is hunger and insecurity”.
“I think the call is timely because our people are going through excruciating pains as a result of policies that are not of immediate expedience. I hereby fully endorse the communique.
“What the people are experiencing at the moment has moved from poverty to chronic hunger, and to compound issues, security has nose-dived abysmally.”
Commending the selfless commitment of the caucus, who volunteered to forgo their basic salary for six months to support their constituents, Ozigbo urged other lawmakers to follow this example. He encouraged them to uphold the party’s manifesto, led by Mr. Peter Obi, and adhere to the principles of the party.
