Lecturer in Police net for allegedly raping female student in Yobe

A lecturer named Adamu Gambo Hudu has been apprehended by the Yobe State Police Command on charges of allegedly raping a female student in Potiskum town. Hudu is reported to work at the State General Hospital, Potiskum, and Al-Ma’arif, a private college of health sciences in Potiskum, where the victim is enrolled.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, verified the arrest, stating that Hudu was taken into custody last Wednesday by police operatives. He mentioned that an ongoing investigation is being conducted into the matter.

DSP Abdulkarim Dungus, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Yobe State Command, stated, “The suspect is in our custody. He was arrested for alleged rape, molestation and breach of trust. Further investigation is ongoing”.

Usman Alhaji Saleh, the Registrar of Al-Ma’arif College of Health Sciences and Technology, also confirmed the arrest to the media but refrained from providing additional comments on the issue.
