The Abuja Muslim Forum (AMF), representing various Muslim organizations in Abuja and its surroundings, is calling upon both organizations and individuals to align with the forum’s ten-year development initiative titled ‘Repositioning Abuja Muslim Forum for strength and prosperity over the next Decade.’
During a special dinner for executive members and key stakeholders in Abuja, the Amir (leader), Alhaji Abdulrasaq Ajani, officially introduced the strategic plan. The recently inaugurated 12-member executive committee, which commenced its responsibilities on October 28, 2023, is set to steer the organization’s affairs for the next three years.
Alhaji Ajani praised Dr Abdussalam Yusuf and Dr Ja’afaru Mahmud for their dedication in formulating the strategic plan. He also disclosed that the executive had received approval from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Alhaji Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, to expand the board to eight members.
In terms of financial planning, Ajani revealed that the AMF has allocated N61.4 million for short and medium-term activities. These funds will be directed towards this year’s Ramadan activities, payment for the allocated land in FCT, and the acquisition of a Toyota Hiace Bus, among other expenses.
During the event, Engr Tauheed Amusan, Mallam Idris Usman, Dr Shuaibu Idris, Ambassador Haliru Shuaibu, Barrister Yahaya Danyarna (SAN), and Alhaji Abubakar Adamu Evuti, among others, expressed their dedication to the AMF’s growth. They urged individual Muslims and organizations to contribute to the realization of the strategic plan for the well-being and progress of Muslims in the FCT and its environs.
Furthermore, the occasion marked the establishment of the AMF Youth Wing, as part of the Catch Them Young strategy, aiming to ensure the continuity and succession planning for current and future generations of Muslims.
